Chief of Staff
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a strategic and operational leader who will work closely with the Founder to ensure efficient execution of business strategies across both the hedge fund and AI startup. This role is pivotal in driving organizational efficiency, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and acting as an extension of the Founder in both operational and strategic matters. The CoS will be the Founder’s right hand, ensuring the company’s vision is translated into actionable, measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Partner with the Founder to develop and execute strategic initiatives that align with the company’s short-term and long-term goals.
- Monitor progress on key projects and initiatives, ensuring that deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.
- Facilitate the decision-making process by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
2. Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment between the hedge fund and AI startup’s activities and the Founder’s strategic vision.
- Lead the implementation of operational improvements and efficiency initiatives across the organization.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the company.
3. Leadership & Team Management:
- Act as a leadership liaison between the Founder and senior management, ensuring that the Founder’s directives are communicated clearly and executed effectively.
- Mentor and support team leaders in developing their departments and achieving their targets.
- Facilitate leadership meetings, including setting agendas, managing follow-ups, and ensuring action items are completed.
4. Project Management:
- Lead cross-functional projects, including new business ventures, product launches, and expansion initiatives.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, board members, and strategic partners.
- Prepare materials and briefings for stakeholder meetings, ensuring the Founder is well-prepared for all interactions.
- Represent the Founder in meetings and negotiations when necessary.
6. Financial Oversight:
- Work closely with the finance team to monitor the company’s financial performance and provide insights to the Founder.
- Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure financial goals are met.
- Oversee investment strategies and portfolio management in collaboration with the hedge fund team.
7. Communications & Public Relations:
- Develop and execute communication strategies that align with the company’s brand and values.
- Draft high-level communications, including speeches, presentations, and public statements on behalf of the Founder.
- Manage the company’s external communications, including media relations and public appearances.
8. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across all business functions.
- Lead initiatives that drive technological advancements, particularly within the AI startup, to maintain a competitive edge.
- Foster a culture of innovation and learning within the organization.
Key Qualifications
Experience :
10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as a Chief of Staff, Director of Operations, or in a strategic role within the finance or technology sectors.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree from tier-1 institutes is strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of leading teams to success.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate vision into action.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and driving change at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and resource management.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira) and data analysis platforms (e.g., Power BI).
